Injury in collision at intersection

A 66-year-old driver was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of River Road and Route 365 Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff’s deputies said Alice Thayer, of Floyd, was eastbound on River Road at 4:51 p.m. when she attempted to make a left turn onto Route 365, only to cut-off westbound Charles Barber, 52, of Floyd. Their two vehicles collided at the intersection.

Deputies said Thayer was ticketed for failure to yield, and she was treated for her injuries at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica. Barber was not injured.
