Adult basketball league sign-ups available

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley will be starting up its Adult Basketball League later this month.

The registration deadline is Jan. 24 and games will begin on Feb. 3. The league is for adults 19 years of age or older and includes an eight-game season plus single elimination playoffs. All games will be held on Sunday nights beginning at 4:30 p.m. and will be full court, five-on-five format with two certified officials for each game.

The fee is $480 per team and includes all referees fees and t-shirts for the championship team of the league. Max roster is 10 players per team.

Ball skills training session set for Sunday

UTICA — The Doneilous King Basketball Academy will hold an Advanced Ball Skills Training session on Sunday at Mohawk Valley Community College from 1 to 4 p.m.

The session is for boys and girls in grades third-eighth and will cover advanced ball handling, passing, shooting mechanics, scholastic finishing moves and footwork. All players must bring a ball and pre-register by calling 534-5821 or by email at:
