John Paul Rhude, 75, passed away January 8th after a brave struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. He grew up in Franklin, Ohio, the son of Jack and Barbara Rhude. A graduate of Miami University (BS) and Webster University (MB), he proudly served 28 years in the United States Air Force. He was both a member and past president of the GRUC Military Officers Association of America and the Oriskany Battle Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Cherished by his family, John leaves his wife, Joan; sons John (Debbie), Bryan USMC (Michelle); daughters Mary (Chaundre), Jana (Jeff); and grandchildren Kellan, Kyle, Kole, Tyler, Kayla, Klint, Adrian, Jordan, Lyla and Clara. He is survived also by his sister, Joanne Althausen, brother, Jerry (Monica) and sister-law and brother-in-law Judy and Ed Buckley; and his nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be at the Barry Funeral Home on Thursday 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s/St. Peter’s Church. Private burial services will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
