Trio accused in burglary
TOWN OF MARCY — After the theft of $70,000 cash from a Marcy residence, law enforcers have charged two Utica men with breaking into the home and one woman for holding some of the stolen money.
State police said Philip D. Diperna, 20, of 1434 Genesee St., and Theodore J. Klotz, 20, of 1406 Ney Ave., broke into a home in Marcy in November and stole the cash. The pair fled, and the theft was under investigation for six weeks.
Troopers said Diperna was taken into custody on Jan. 5, and Klotz on Jan. 9. Both men are charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony. They were both arraigned and sent to county jail on $30,000 cash bail or bond.
Also charged is Kelly L. Crider, 20, of 27 Poplar Ave., Whitesboro, troopers said. Crider was found with a quantity of the stolen cash, and she was charged on Jan. 5 with fourth-degree possession of stolen property. Crider was ticketed to appear in Whitestown Court.
