Sheriff warns overnight street parking still illegal
The sheriff’s office is reminding area residents that just because the region has experienced a mild winter so far, doesn’t mean they are allowed to park their vehicles out on the streets overnight.
Because the sheriff’s office has received some recent complaints from town and village Department of Public Works crews, deputies will be enforcing parking regulations, Sheriff Robert R. Maciol said.
"The mild winter so far has kept roads and streets clear for the most part and the need to keep roads free of vehicles has lulled some residents to not obey all-night parking," he said. "Residents need to obey these parking regulations so DPWs can do their work effectively and to avoid the inconvenience of getting a ticket."
The sheriff’s office is also reminding residents that it’s illegal to deposit, throw or dump snow into any roadway as they are shoveling or snowblowing.
