Rome JVs roll to 11-1 mark

The Rome Free Academy junior varsity girls basketball team kept on rolling on Monday night after coming up with a lopsided 51-29 victory over visiting Notre Dame of Utica to jump their record to 11-1.

Tricia Loso scored 14 points, including three shots from behind the three-point arch, and grabbed seven rebounds for Rome, as Montana Sochia added six points.

Morgan Murphy and Mckenzie Smith combined for 10 points, as Kati Gotch made four assists, and Holly Hash blocked three shots.

RFA falls to Notre Dame

In other junior varsity basketball action, the RFA boys fell to a 52-50 defeat from Notre Dame in Utica.

Donald Perkins lit up the court with 26 points and pulled in 11 rebounds, while Matt Adamik added six points, four rebounds and two assists, and Elijah Smalls chipped in six points, five rebounds and two assists.

Bulldogs handle Redwings

In more junior varsity boys basketball, the Westmoreland Bulldogs pulled away for a 54-20 victory over visiting Rome Catholic.

Austin Enos and Dylan Hannaford led the charge with six steals, and Joe Taylor grabbed 10 rebounds and made five blocks.
