Turning Stone golf pro Blundell honored
VERONA — Turning Stone Resort and Casino head golf professional Miles Blundell has been selected by the PGA of America for two honors in 2011, winning both the Junior Golf Leader Award and the Resort Merchandiser of the Year Award for the PGA Central New York Section.
Blundell was recognized for best reflecting the qualities and ideals of PGA golf professionals whose dedication to youth programs provides opportunities and experiences for juniors to learn and play better golf.
Youth programs at Turning Stone include golf clinics for children with cerebral palsy, an event for The First Tee of Syracuse, a Play Golf Native America Day and the Junior Elite Golf Camp.
The Merchandiser Award, which Blundell also won in 2010, is given for excellence in golf shop operations.
Blundell, who grew up playing junior golf in Europe, holds a degree in Professional Golf Management and a minor in Business from Penn State University. A PGA Master Professional, he received his Class-A PGA membership in 2005 and has completed all six sections of the Certified Professional Program.
