DAR honors four 20-year members

Fort Stanwix Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met and had a Christmas party Dec. 10 at the Beeches.

Regent Cheryl Jacobs presided. Prospective members Mellony Spinelli and Katrina Bratge were introduced. Chaplain Pat Balcavage and Regent Jacobs led with the ritual. The Pledge of Allegiance to the US Flag was led by Stephanie Hilts, the American Creed by Jennifer Evans Fitzgibbon and the Preamble by Marietta Wright. Secretary Peggy Lisewski and Treasurer Alice Elphick gave reports.

Delegates to Continental Congress were elected and the Silver Bowl was passed to collect money to purchase a book on genealogy and/or history for Jervis Library.

Alice Elphick, Cathleen Lapidus, Deanne Martin and Nancy Pawlikowski were recognized for 20 years membership in the National Society and were presented certificates.

Regent Jacobs thanked hostesses Nancy Pawlikowski and Susan Keyser and Chaplain Pat Balcavage prayed.
