Maciol and Swenszkowski attend missing, exploited children class

Sheriff Robert M. Maciol and Undersheriff Robert S. Swenszkowski earlier this month attended a national seminar on missing and exploited children.

The county’s two top cops joined 51 other law enforcers on Dec. 4 and 5 in Washington D.C. for the Missing & Exploited Children Seminar for Chief Executives, hosted by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, according to a release. The two-day seminar is designed to give top brass a better understanding of the issue of missing and sexually exploited children, along with tips and training to better respond to reports of such crimes.

Created in 1997, the seminar is all-expenses paid through a grant from the federal Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency. It provides law enforcers with training and new policies for dispatchers, first-responders, investigators and command staff.
