Fire alarm check turns drugs in Hamilton dorm

TOWN OF KIRKLAND — A Hamilton College student has been charged with drug and alcohol possession after campus security found mushrooms, marijuana and more in his dorm room.

Police said Justin W. Perri, 19, of Dobbs Ferry in Westchester County, was found with hallucinogenic mushrooms, pot, alcohol and other drug paraphernalia Wednesday afternoon. Campus security discovered the items during a routine check of a fire alarm inside Perri’s dormitory.

Perri is charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree use of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana, authorities said. Perri was released on an appearance ticket to Town Court on Dec. 13.
