Lemoyne slates concerts

SYRACUSE — Le Moyne College students are preparing a series of winter concerts.

Tickets for all events are $15, $10 for seniors, and free for all students. Call 445-4523 for tickets.

On Sunday at 7:30 p.m., the college’s Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Joe Colombo, will present an evening of jazz favorites at Jazz Central, 441 E. Washington St. The college ensemble will be joined by the Young Lions of Central New York, performing a Christmas jazz suite, "Bye Bye, Blackbird," "My Funny Valentine," and more.

A joint concert featuring the Le Moyne College Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Singers will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts. The orchestra, under the baton of Travis Newton, will present the music of Gustav Holst, a full orchestral medley of classic carols, and a holiday audience sing-along! The Chamber Singers, a newly formed a cappella ensemble under the direction of Jocelyn Rauch, will perform holiday carols both new and old, including "I Saw Three Ships," "Carol of the Bells," and many more.

The Le Moyne College Jazzuits and Singers present two evenings of Broadway classics and the music of George Gershwin Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts, these two vocal ensembles will present standards including "I’ve Never Been in Love Before" and "Someone to Watch Over Me" alongside selections from contemporary Broadway musicals, including "Spring Awakening" and "Hairspray."
