Charged in street violence
A 20-year-old man accused of dragging a teen-ager across West Dominick Street was also busted by law enforcers for alcohol and marijuana possession.
Joshua R. Adle, of 408 Depeyster St., was released on his own recognizance by City Court Judge John C. Gannon Thursday on charges of second-degree harassment, unlawful possession of marijuana and an open container violation. His cases were adjourned to Nov. 28.
Police said at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 21, Adle knocked down a 16-year-old boy in the middle of West Dominick Street and then dragged him across the street by his hooded sweatshirt. The dragging caused redness and soreness to the teenager’s neck.
In a statement to police, the victim said he was walking near North George Street when he saw Adle in the distance. The victim said Adle charged at him without provocation and knocked him down.
Police said at 9:28 p.m. Oct. 29, Adle was found with an open beer can in the 100 block of E. Court St.
Police said at 5:14 p.m. Nov. 9, Adle was found with a quantity of marijuana in the 100 block of Turin St.
