Paranormal group’s program
to aid society

TOWN OF FLOYD — Rome Investigators of the Paranormal (RIP) host a public presentation and fundraiser for the Floyd Historical Society on Saturday from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Camroden Church, 8049 East Floyd Road.

RIP is a group of Romans with a passion for the paranormal. The team uses custom developed technology to collect a wide variety of data and evidence to present to the public in an unbiased manner. The founding members of RIP include Dr. David DeProspero, Mark and Nicole Barry, Vincent Pirillo and Peter Leonard.

The program will highlight a history of the Camroden Church, basic information regarding hauntings and paranormal activity, a brief interactive overview of the equipment used in paranormal investigations and a multimedia program showing photographic and audio evidence that the group has recorded. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Seating is limited to 100 guests and tickets cost $5. All of the profits will be donated to the Floyd Historical Society.

Following the presentation, 25 tickets will be offered for a hands-on, six hour investigation of the Camroden Church site, hosted by the RIP team members from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Participants will have the chance to collect and analyze evidence. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $20 and should be reserved prior to the event. To reserve tickets, e-mail info@RomeInvestigatorsOfTheParanormal.com and include your name, phone number and how many tickets you wish to reserve for either event. Also, both events should be paid for at the door using cash or check. Checks can be made out to James Nuessle, Floyd Historical Society Treasurer.

The RIP team will also host public presentations at various Rome sites throughout the summer, including a teen-oriented program at Jervis Public Library on Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m. RIP will deliver a presentation focusing on the results of an investigation at the library. After the presentation, teens will conduct mini investigations with the RIP team.
