LIVERPOOL — The Rome Free Academy hockey team rolled on Friday night as the Black Knights picked up their 12th victory in their last 13 games with a 9-2 rout over Section III Division I rival Liverpool.
RFA, which is undefeated in its last 14 games after starting the season 0-2, got stellar performances from TJ Reilley and Max Bartell as both recorded three-goal hat tricks. Reilley also had two assists and Bartell had one.
The visitors fired 63 shots on goal in the win, with Liverpool goalkeeper Joe Ciciarelli credited with 54 saves.
Rome netminder Derek Pfeiffer picked up his first win between the pipes as he stopped 26 shots, while Derek Garrett Reilley added a goal and two assists, and Tim Philley and Mike Pekarski each had a goal for the Romans, which improved to 7-1-2 in the league and 12-2-2 overall.
Rome wasted little time in the contest as they mounted a 5-2 lead in the first period.
Goals for the Warriors came off the sticks of Kody Gaulke and Ryan Gallardo.
The Black Knights are scheduled to host Cortland-Homer tonight at 6:30 at Kennedy Arena and will also take on visiting Solvay on Monday at Kennedy Arena at 6:45 p.m. in a pair of Section III Division I-B contests.
