The Adirondack Wildcats closed out their regular season with a convincing 44-12 Class C East Division victory over host Little Falls for their first league victory of the season on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 6-0 after the first quarter, the Wildcats scored six unanswered rushing touchdowns to cruise to their blowout victory and end their regular season with a 1-4 league mark and 2-5 overall.

The Wildcats will take on visiting South Lewis during a crossover game next Saturday starting at 2 o’clock.

Wildcats runner Devin Riegler scored three TDs on runs of 10, 2, and 75, while teammate Cody Buhler scored two TDs on a pair of 2-yard bursts. Kevin O’Rourke also scored on a 1-yard touchdown against Little Falls, which dropped to 0-5 in the league and 0-7 overall.

Oriskany falls to league foe

The Oriskany Redskins couldn’t contain the high-powered Class D Central Division foes and longtime arch rivals New York Mills during a 41-12 road loss.

Senior tailback Travis Tyler carried the ball 16 times for 82 yards, while Jared Janes pounded out 80 yards on 11 carries and sophomore quarterback Austin Smith connected with Steve McCorduck for a 66-yard TD pass for the Redskins, which ended its regular season with a 1-3 league record and a 1-6 overall standing.

Tyler put the guests on the board in the second quarter following a 27-yard TD burst to close the gap to 13-6 Mills, before the hosts scored three unanswered touchdowns to seal the victory.

The Redskins will play in a crossover game against visiting Class C opponent Clinton on Saturday starting at 2 o’clock.
