Stouffer’s hat trick helps Adirondack boys post soccer win over Camden
The Adirondack boys soccer team pulled out a victory over host Camden, 4-2, in a non-league matchup on Monday as Dan Stouffer had a three-goal hat trick.
Dave Koperda contributed with a goal as well for the winners.
Spencer Soules scored both of Camden’s two goals.
Goalkeeper Dalton Dorrity made four saves in net for Adirondack, while Camden goalie Sebastian Best picked up six saves.
Bulldogs blank Owen D. Young
In other boys soccer action, Westmoreland came away with its first triumph of the season with a 3-0 shutout win over host Owen D. Young in a Center State Conference matchup.
Ian Dunning shot in two goals to lead the Bulldogs scoring, as Brandon Murphy added on a goal of his own. Andrew Arnsten chipped in with two assists, and Tyler Witter had an assist also.
Goaltender Kyle Doolen had seven saves for 1-2 overall and in the league Westmoreland.
RFA downs Proctor
The Rome Free Academy girls tennis squad pulled away with a 6-1 decision over visiting Proctor High of Utica.
Nicole Anken and Alexis Bravo each picked up singles wins, while the teams of Nicole Campbell and Sara Luczak, Alyssa Cavalier and Jessie Flaim, Lauren Bendall and Lindsay Nowicki, and Helen Waterman and Emily Closinski swept all doubles matches.
The Lady Knights’ record moves to 4-2 overall.
Westmoreland bounces Ilion
In more girls tennis action, Westmoreland captured a 4-1 win over Ilion for its fifth win of the season.
Elizabeth Crane and Alissa Cornacchia both won their respective singles matches in the Center State Conference contest.
The groups of Ashley Russell and Sara Damp, as well as, Jill Crane and Kelsey Bielby each grabbed doubles wins.
Westmoreland jumps to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in league play.
