Utica National appoints manager

James J. Almy

James J. Almy has been promoted to underwriting manager of the Utica National Insurance Group’s Errors & Omissions division in Utica.

A 1993 graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, where he earned a bachelor’s degree from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Almy began his career with Utica National in 1994 as a commercial lines underwriting trainee at the company’s Eastern Regional Office. He was promoted to underwriter in 1995 and senior underwriter in 1997, and account underwriter in 1999.

In 2004 he was promoted to underwriting supervisor at the regional office.

He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Associate in Underwriting and Program in General Insurance professional designations. Heserved as Utica National’s 2008 United Way Corporate Campaign coordinator.

He resides in Marcy, with his wife, Lisa, and their two children.
