4-H members picked to represent county in horse competitions

WHITESTOWN — Area youth competed in the County Level Public Presentations and Horse Communications events on March 6 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Youth ages 5-17 spoke before volunteer judges Greg Carl of Poland, Jan Blunt of Rome, Stephanie Knoeller of Clinton, Joyce Walker of Verona and horse judges: Maureen McCleary of Sauquoit, Kathi Brown of West Leyden.

Three junior 4-H members 9-12 years old and three senior 4-H members 13-19-years-old were selected to represent Oneida County at the District Event to be held on May 22, at the New Hartford Library.

Public speaking representatives are:

Seniors — Jasmine Wratten of Oriskany Falls, Christina Born of Westernville, Wayne Wratten of Oriskany Falls and alternate: Bernadette Erlichman, Waterville.

Juniors — Teddy Scheiderich of Lee Center, Kathryn Wilson of Canastota, Abigail Wratten of Oriskany Falls and alternate: Zach Wratten, Oriskany Falls

Chosen to Represent Oneida County at the Horse Communication Event to be held at Morrisville on March 13will be:

Seniors — Christina Born of Westernville, Debra Born of Westernville, Crystalanne Boncella of CamdenM.

Juniors — Annie Born of Westernville, Rachel Carrock of Remsen, Morgan Sweeney of Remsen.
