Two free workshops, including one in Boonville, to help village officials draw up budgets will be offered next month.
One session is April 8 at 7 p.m. at the Boonville Town and Village Office Building, Route 12. The other one is April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Altmar-Albion Municipal Building in Oswego County. Laird Petrie from the Office of the State Comptroller will present the workshops. Officials do not have to attend both workshops.
Topics will include: budgetary responsibilities of village officials; development of a balanced budget; key elements of the annual budget; tools available for assisting village officials in the budget process; and monitoring and amending the annual budget. The sessions will include time for questions.
