Registration for the April Food $en$e program — open to all — will be held at United Methodist churches in Rome, Lee Center and Boonville.
Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. There are no income guidelines and new customers are welcome.
The cost of $15.50 per unit is payable at the time of registration by cash, check or food stamps.
Signups are scheduled at:
• First United Methodist Church, 400 N. George St.: registration from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, and from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at the church. Registrations, for pick-up at First United Methodist, will also be accepted from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, through Thursday, April 8, at the First Baptist Church, 301 W. Embargo St. The food may be picked up Friday, April 23, between noon and 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. For more information, call First United Methodist Church at 336-1740.
• Lee Center United Methodist Church, 5531 Lee Center-Taberg Road: registration will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m., Friday, March 26, and from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6. The food may be picked up Friday, April 23, at the church. For more information, call Lee Center United Methodist Church at 336-0742 or 337-9877.
• Boonville United Methodist Church, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on March 30, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. EBT approvals will be on April 11 and delivery will be on April 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Orders will be taken until April 11 so call Program Coordinator Diane Kilbourne at 942-6652 or 281-4779 or Boonville United Methodist Church Office weekdays at 942-2626 to arrange a time to meet. On delivery day April 23, therr will be a box available for donation of items to Matthew’s Place, which operates a food bank.
The April unit includes meatballs, chicken breast, Italian sausage, veal patties, ground turkey, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, French fries, green beans, a dessert item and two fresh produce items.
Specials, which are priced separately and may be purchased in addition to or separate from the unit, include sirloin beef tips, chicken tenders, hot pockets, tilapia fillets, turkey burgers and pork sirloin roast.
