Indium Corp. quality engineer Anthony Piccione has earned his certification by the American Society for Quality.
A certified quality engineer is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality, evaluation, and control, society officials said. Candidates must have at least eight years of training and on-the-job experience in one or more areas of quality, with a minimum of three years in a decision-making position. They develop and implement quality systems; plan, control, and monitor process quality; use reliability and risk management tools; and apply a wide spectrum of quantitative analyses to resolve quality issues.
Piccione joined Indium Corp. in 2005 as a quality technician and was promoted to quality engineer in 2007. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Oswego and earned his Six-Sigma Green Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth University. He resides in Marcy.
