CLINTON — The French film "Boarding Gate" will be shown Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Kirner-Johnson Building auditorium at Hamilton College. The screening is free and open to the public.
The College’s French Club is hosting the Tournées Film Festival "to provide a glimpse into French cinematic tradition and the diversity of French culture."
The film is a quick-paced, international thriller about an ex-prostitute named Sandra who attempts to open her own club in Beijing. Kinky sex and spilled blood ensue, and suddenly Sandra is on the run in Hong Kong trying to escape the machinations of her former American boyfriend. The film, a veritable vehicle for its star Asia Argento, is directed by Olivier Assayas and also features Michael Madsen and Kelly Lin.The Tournées Festival is funded by a grant awarded to American colleges and universities to support the screening of contemporary French cinema.
