CORCORAN — The Rome Free Academy hockey squad made it three wins in a row on Thursday night but it didn’t come easy as the Black Knights battled host Corcoran to a 3-2 overtime victory in a non-league matchup.
Matt DeMatteo was the hero of the day for the Romans after he fired in the winning goal with 4:24 into the overtime period on assists from both Garrett and T.J. Reilley.
Nic Tardugno and Max Bartell each tallied one goal for the Black Knights as well, while Garrett and T.J. Reilley each finished with two assists.
Kyle Williams also made one assist for the visitors, as well.
RFA goaltender Mike Endres captured his third win and remains unbeaten in front of the net while grabbing 29 saves on the night.
The Black Knights increased their record to 4-1 overall on the season and will host Cazenovia on Tuesday in a Division II East matchup at 7 p.m.
