$10,000 bail for Utican in tavern brawl

One of four women charged for their involvement in a brawl outside Lupia’s Bar was arraigned before Judge John C. Gannon in City Court Thursday.

Bail was set at $10,000 for Shontay N. Lockhart, 23, of 942 Schuyler St., Utica, charged with second-degree assault, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct. Her case was adjourned to Nov. 9.

Police said at 2:03 a.m. Nov. 5, during a fight at Lupia’s Bar, 701 E. Dominick St., Lockhart swung her arms and fists and struck Patrolman Jeffrey M. Lanigan in the left side of the face, causing injury. During the altercation Lockhart was struck in the face with a glass mug, causing her to suffer a broken nose, police said.

Also in City Court:

• Walter D. Kimball Jr., 28, of 318 S. George St., Apt. 2B, was ordered to pay a $100 fine, plus $120 surcharge on a count of disorderly conduct.

Police said at 1:42 a.m. Aug. 4, while on the front porch of 107 Henry St., Kimball shouted obscenities after being warned several times to stop.

• The case of George J. Kuchma, 51, of 8497 Turin Road, charged with disorderly conduct, was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal to May 4.

State police said at 12:57 a.m. Sept. 16, while in front of his residence, Kuchma got in between a trooper’s patrol car and another stopped vehicle and asked if the driver was under arrest when he didn’t even know her. He also refused to go back inside his residence, troopers said.

• Esteban Hernandez, 25, of 407 Howland Ave., was released on his own recognizance on a count of third-degree assault. His case was adjourned to Nov. 18.

Police said at 12:45 p.m. June 27, while at 200 N. Levitt St., Apt. 508, Hernandez threw a phone at a woman, striking her in the lip, during a domestic dispute.
