Edith L. McNamara, 86, of Blossvale, New York, passed away, Monday, November 2, 2009, in Rome Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born August 6, 1923, in Rome the daughter of Clayton and Lillian Westcott Johnson. Edith was educated in Rome. On February 10, 1945, she married Donald J. "Mac" McNamara in Rome. He died December 5, 2003.
Edith will always be remembered for her love of animals, especially her cats, Big Ben, Hazel and Mabel.
Surviving are six daughters and three sons-in-law, Lorraine and Steve Disburger, of Rome, Karen Reid, of Blossvale, Marlene and Larry Dauksza, of Vernon, Ellen Siebold, of Oriskany, Michelle McNamara and Steve Meyer, of Cassville, and Nadine and Earl Clark, of New London; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Marilyn, of Churchville, Pat and Elaine, of Rome, Martin and Sharon, of Rome, and Warren and Debbie, of Durhamville; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Jesse Carey, Mary Jansen, Irene Bello and Florence Cole; three brothers, Raymond, Erwin, and her twin, Everett; and a grandson, Scott McNamara.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 920 Turin Street, Rome, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N.
