Fritz’s Polka Band from Verona has been nominated for a national award by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame in Euclid, Ohio.

The band’s original song, ‘Please Don’t Wait ‘Til Tomorrow,’ written by Fred Scherz Sr., and is on the group’s latest recording, "Reflections," which was released in May 2008.

It is up for the New Original Polka or Waltz award. The winner will be announced at the Crystal Awards Show XXI, held at the Slovenian National Home at 6409 St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.

Fritz Scherz, band leader said "The Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame receives many entries each year from so many polka bands. So, to even get nominated is a thrill! Personally, I’m really happy because it’s a tune my Dad wrote!"

FPB has made 16 recordings.
