CANASTOTA — The second annual Open Farm Day returns to Madison County on Saturday, Aug. 22 with 23 farms participating, up from 12 last year. More than 400 Central New Yorkers came out last year to Open Farm Day and the county anticipates a fifty percent visitor increase this year.

Becca Jablonski, Madison County’s Agricultural Economic Development Specialist, said, "As a community we don’t really know where our food comes from - it’s just there at the grocery store. I wanted to find a way to bridge the gap between our food producers and our consumers.
