Sa Nouvong July 2, 2009

Sa Nouvong, 51, of Rome, passed away Thursday July 2, 2009, at St. Lukes Hospital after a long illness. Sa was born in Laos, a son of Nou and Lang Nouvong, on November 5, 1957. After coming to the United States he was united in marriage to Manychanh Nouvong July 13, 1985 at the First Baptist Church in Rome. Sa was a master mechanic employed by Rome Volkswagen. Prior to that he worked for Don’s Ford, Tobin Chrysler & SAAB, Stockholm Ford and Rome Ford. He was an active and enthusiastic member of the First Baptist Church, where he had served on boards, acted as chef for the Men’s breakfast meetings, prepared coffee and snacks for social gatherings and was much beloved by his fellow church members.

Surviving are his loving wife and two daughters, Monica and Amanda, at home; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Liainne Nouvong, Rome, nephew, Timothy and niece, Samantha Nouvong; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bounna and Souksamay Nanthasene, two nieces, Mely and Julie Nanthasene and nephew, Tony Nanthasene,

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church. Arrangements by Strong and Burns Funeral Home, 401 N. George St.
