Zonta Club
plans mentoring
for third graders

The Rome Zonta Club met March 17 at the Franklin Hotel. Plans were finalized for the "Back to Basics" Program to be held Tuesday, March 24, at Gansevoort School. This is a mentoring program between Zonta members and third grade girls which will follow through for the next two years.

Speaker for the evening was Stephanie A. Eghigian, executive director of the "The Women’s Fund of Herkimer and Oneida Counties." This organization was begun in 1997, raising funds and awarding grants through The Women’s Fund and Annie’s Fund.

Zonta officials said the Women’s Fund provides life changing assistance to women and girls; and Annie’s Fund provides assistance to women in emergency situations both of which are part of the goals of Zonta.

Plans are continuing for a membership drive.
