Appointments to the county Youth Bureau Advisory Board are among the items slated to be taken up by county legislators Wednesday.

County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. has submitted the names of 21 county residents, including several from Rome and a county legislator from the city, for two-year appointments to the unpaid board positions. Board approval is required.

Knowing this list was in the pipeline, County Legislator Larry Tanoury Jr., D-25, Utica, used these county-executive selections, and others, as a springboard to comment during the Aug. 27 meeting that the 29 lawmakers should be more involved in appointments.

Picente’s choices for the youth advisory panel are:

-- Tom Brognano, 612 N. George St.

-- Al Calogero, 2625 Oneida St., Sauquoit.

-- County Stop-DWI Coordinator, Mike Colangelo, 115 Birchwood Lane, Whitestown.

-- Meyoshi Collis, 401 Columbia St., Utica.

-- Amy Dickinson, 22 Elm St., Clinton.

-- Cary Meltzer, 5948 Skinner Road, Vernon Center.

-- County Legislator Brian Miller, 9195 Red Hill Road, New Hartford.

-- David O’Brien, 124 E. Bacon St., Waterville.

-- County Legislator Frank Puma, 6200 William St.

In other matters, the Public Works Department is seeking approval of an agreement with Barton & Loguidice for construction inspection services for county bridges being repaired and painted. The cost is $178,000, including $142,400 in federal aid and $26,700 in state assistance. The county share is $8,900.

The board meets at 7 p.m. at the County Office Building. Ways and Means Committee meets at 5 p.m. This is the last regular nighttime board meeting of the year.
