Fritz’s Polka Band from Verona has been nominated for an award by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame in Euclid, Ohio.

Walter’s Polka, written by Fred Scherz Sr., and on the group’s latest recording, "Reflections," released in May, is up for the New Original Song award.

The winner will be announced at the Crystal Awards Show XXI, held at the Slovenian National Home at 6409 St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 2pm.

Fritz Scherz, band leader, said, "Personally, I’m really happy that it’s not only a tune my Dad wrote, but it also features our good friends, Bob Kravos (Grammy nominee), Walter Ostanek (3-time Grammywinner), and Ron Sluga (Grammy nominee) on it!"
