Celebrate spring at Utica Zoo

It’s surely a sign of spring when the Utica Zoo kicks off its spring education programs.

There something for kids of all ages: Stroller Safari (6-18 months) in which each safari includes an interactive tour and up-close animal encounter; and Hatchlings (18 months to 3 years) in which the classroom is transformed into an exploration center.

There are other classes for older youngsters. Depending on their ages kids will learn “All About Birds,” “Who’s New at the Zoo?”, “Dinosaur Dancing,” or “Spineless Wonders” and many others.

All classes begin at 10:30 a.m. in the zoo’s auditorium and cost $10 per child; $5 for members.

For more information on the schedule or to register, contact Kathleen McGill at kathleen.mcgill@uticazoo.org or 315-738-0472, ext. 36. General info on the zoo is available at UticaZoo.org.

With its county funding and support from other sources, the zoo is truly an attraction that has served the region for over 100 years in Roscoe-Conkling Park, providing an important tourism experience as well as significant animal care.
