The problem is caring about money
Columnist Ben Shapiro thinks not enough caring is taking place for public policies to be effective. Perhaps he should look a little deeper and he would see caring is truly the cause of nothing getting done. The problem, as I see it, is the caring about money.
Trump caring about immigrant children; not really, he cares about feeding his base the fear of them taking their jobs. Caring about the homeless, you might have to tax the rich. Caring about the sick could negatively impact your profit margin.
I’m afraid I don’t see any unintended consequences. I do see a very large failure to do provable research. A perfect example is Mr Shapiro’s rather inane comments about tariffs, rent controls and minimum wages.
Our whole economy is based on consumerism. And when you insist on a larger profit margin the result often is fewer people who can afford your product. Greed used to be a sin. Henry Ford understood when he started building cars that he had to pay his workers enough to buy his product. Does not this still hold true?
