Tenney’s comments are divisive
This letter is written in response to Rep. Claudia Tenney’s recent comments in the local media. For some reason, known only to her, she apparently said, during a radio discussion about calls for stricter gun control since last week’s deadly Florida high school shooting:
“Yeah, well, obviously there is a lot of politics in it, and it’s interesting that so many of these people that commit the mass murders end up being Democrats, but the media doesn’t talk about that either.”
How does she know this? Does she have the voter registration rolls for every place a “mass murderer” ever lived?
These types of slanderous statements do no good, and do not belong in a country whose motto translates as “Out of Many, One.” This cancer on our society could ultimately be fatal. Democracy is too precious to imperil with divisiveness. Tenney just had her “basket of deplorables” moment. May it come back to haunt her in November.
