Brindisi should answer real questions at town halls
When I went to Anthony Brindisi’s town hall in Little Falls, on May 27th, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. People seem to be praising him for his openness to talk with constituents, given that it is often reported that he holds town hall-style events.
However, I soon learned that in these “town halls” the majority of the people in the room are his loyal, liberal supporters. I guess this shouldn’t have been surprising since many of his events have been sponsored by Democratic groups. At the event I attended, Brindisi was mostly asked softball questions on how to get involved with his campaign.
To make it even worse, the few actual questions Brindisi was asked, he dodged. Brindisi told us he, “didn’t call his constituents idiots,” and avoided taking a solid stance on gun control. People in New York’s 22nd District can disagree with Claudia Tenney all they want, but we know where Claudia stands on tough issues. It’s time for Anthony Brindisi to stop masquerading campaign events as town halls and start answering real questions.
