Congratulations to all the participants of the Rome 2017 All City Band Concert. What a super performance was enjoyed Wednesday evening at the RFA auditorium. Those who were not able to attend the concert sure missed out on some great toe-tapping music.

The Rome Instrumental Band Staff Jake Meiss, Anne Gannon and Robert Verminski did a great job in organizing, directing and producing a smooth, energetic performance. Congratulations to all of you for the effort expended to achieve a well-orchestrated performance. We need to be proud of the fine young women and men who were part of the concert. They were respectful, courteous and cooperative with each other and with their leaders. It made for an evening that progressed in an orderly fashion.

So often the great people go unnoticed for their efforts. Those who put forth their time, energy and focus into the art of music should be recognized and congratulated for the practice time that is put forth to achieve the level of excellence for their performance March 8.

Each grade level 6 through 12 gave a performance at their level of expertise. It was really awesome to observe so many talented young people on the RFA stage. Even greater still was to see 300 young talented music artists ranging from 11 years to 18 coming together on stage for the finale performance of the Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.

Again, congratulations to the All City Band participants and the Instrumental Band Staff for an awesome performance.
