Garden club hosts holiday gathering

McCONNELLSVILLE — The McConnellsville Garden Club will meet on Monday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at the McConnellsville Community Church, 2884 Main St.

Attendees are asked to bring a clothing item such as gloves, scarves or knit caps to donate to the Clothing Connection, which offers good, warm clothing to those in need. There will also be a monitory collection for the Christmas Purse, which benefits Cluster 13 Ministries, Clothing Connection and Food Pantry. Club members are also asked to bring an appetizer to share in the Christmas Celebration.

The winning tickets for the benefit drawing on the submitted holiday gift baskets and items will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at Clothing Connection in Camden.

Hostesses for this event are Elaine Lovelace, Kathie Posner, Marion Scoville and Carol Sisco.

Founded in 1932, the 83 year-old garden club is comprised of members from McConnellsville, Camden, Constantia, West Monroe and northern Oneida Lake who are interested in gardening, horticulture, ecology and expanding their knowledge of gardening.
