Surgical specialists, sleep medicine practices moving
Rome Medical Practice’s Rome Surgical Specialists, and Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine practices are both relocating to 1614 N. James St.
The new office is located
adjacent to Rome Memorial
General Surgeon Pedro Del Pino, of Rome Surgical
Specialists; Pulmonologist Dr. Mohammed Seedat; and Family Nurse Practitioner Katherine M. Freeman, of Rome Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, will all begin seeing patients in the new offices Thursday, Oct. 18.
Both practices are relocating from their Hill Road offices to be closer to the hospital and allow patients the convenience of seeing their provider and receiving diagnostic testing and treatment nearby.
Appointments for pulmonary function tests, pulmonary
rehabilitation and sleep
studies will be coordinated in a timely manner.
Dr. Del Pino is board certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and performs general surgeries, including breast biopsy and mastectomy, surgery for skin and colon cancers, gallbladder and thyroid disease, bowel obstruction and resection and other related bowel surgeries, gastrectomy, appendicitis, hernia repair and tracheostomy.
Dr. Seedat is medical director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Rome Memorial Hospital, providing care directly or coordinating care for patients in the hospital’s cardiopulmonary department, as well as in the Sleep Disorders Center and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program.
Dr. Seedat and Freeman care for patients with lung disorders and diseases, such as COPD, asthma, lung cancer and pulmonary hypertension. In addition, they treat a broad range of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and sleep related movement disorders.
Board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Seedat also holds subcertifications in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine from the ABIM.
He is also certified in sleep medicine through the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) and is credentialed to care for pediatric and adult patients.
With 25 years experience in nursing, Freeman earned her master’s of science degree in nursing with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY IT, Marcy in 2014. With her broad base of experience in long-term care, urgent care, cardiology and family practice, Freeman said she understands how chronic conditions can impact the day-to-day health care needs of her patients.
