Cinema Capitol (230 W. Dominick St.) will present the drama “Leave No Trace” from Friday, Sept. 7-Thursday, Sept. 13.

Directed by Debra Granik, “Leave No Trace” tells the story of a traumatized veteran (Ben Foster) and his teenage daughter (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie) who have lived off the grid for years in the forests of Portland, Oregon.

Their idyllic life is shattered when both are put into social services but, after clashing with their new surroundings, they set off on a harrowing journey back to their wild homeland. The movie also stars Jeff Kober and Dale Dickey.

“Leave No Trace” was awarded “Best Screenplay” at the Taormina International Film Festival and the “Truly Moving Picture Award” at the Heartland Film Festival.

The Atlantic writes “‘Leave No Trace’ is one of the best films of 2018 and promises to make a star of McKenzie,” while the Chicago Sun-Times writes “‘Leave No Trace’ is further evidence Granik is one of the most talented directors around - and Ben Foster ranks among the finest and most intense actors working today.”

The movie has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film runs 109 minutes and is rated PG (for thematic materials throughout). Admission is $7, $6 for students and military, and $5 for Capitol Friends. Tickets are available at the door and in advance from the Capitol Theatre box office (315-337-6453) and online at www.romecapitol.com.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 4 and 7 p.m., Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m., and Monday-Thursday at 7 p.m. The Friday 4 and Sunday 1 show times will include captions for the hearing-impaired.
