Bassist “Doctuh” Michael Woods will be joined by drummer Rick Compton, guitarist Joe Handy and trumpeter Scott Rutledge for an afternoon of jazz at the “Summer Music in Vienna” series Sunday, 3 p.m., at the Vienna United Methodist Church.

The afternoon will feature many of “Doc” Woods’s original compositions as well as some standards. “These veteran stage-performers in Central New York are consulate musicians,” organizers said. All concerts in Summer Music in Vienna start at 3 p.m., and are free, with donations gratefully accepted.

The concert series is a part of the Historical Association of Vienna’s ongoing programming of history and culture. The venue is handicapped accessible. The church is located on Routes 49 and 13, just to the east of the Y-Hill, north of Sylvan Beach.
