Stanwix Heights Fire Dept. serves BBQ

Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Department, 6580 Bartlett Road, will host a chicken barbecue on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.

The cost is $12, $6 for children ages 5-12, under 5 eat free. The menu includes, chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, beverages, and dessert. Take outs are available. For more information call 337-7310. Proceeds benefit “Believe 271.”

Charity concert Sept. 10 in Cazenovia

CAZENOVIA — The Concert for a Cause series returns to the Nelson Odeon on Sept. 10 with a performance by the Jefferson Quartet, featuring Syracuse Symphoria principal clarinetist Allan Kolosky. The concert will feature classical music from Mozart, Dvorak and Resanovic. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7. Tickets are $20 at the door.

The Concert for a Cause series began as a grassroots organization earlier this year and seeks to use local talent to benefit local charitable causes. The proceeds from the Jefferson Quartet concert will benefit Interfaith Works of CNY, a Syracuse-based organization that seeks to build bridges between the various religious communities in Central New York.
