Roast beef dinner in Boonville Friday

BOONVILLE — The annual ACAL roast beef dinner, Chinese auction and homemade pie sale will be held at 4 p.m. until sold out on Friday at the Adirondack High School, 8181 Route 294.

The menu will include roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, coleslaw, rolls and butter, brownie sundaes with homemade chocolate sauce and beverages. Take outs will be available.

Tickets will be on sale at the door: $12 for adults and $5 for children 5-12 years (children under 5 eat free). All proceeds from this event support the ACAL Environmental Scholarship, which is awarded annually to an Adirondack High School senior.

Strides Against Breast Cancer event in Utica

The Crafty Ladies will present its 8th annual fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug 18; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19; and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. The event will be held at 7 Shelly Place ,off Herkimer Road, in Utica.

The weekend-long event will include raffle items of handmade goods, gift cards and donations from local businesses. Homemade baked good and handcrafted wares will also be available. Portion of proceeds from the weekend event will be donated to local chapter of American Cancer Society for Making Strides.
