Mohawk Valley Community College will host a lecture by Sammi Tucker, a communications coach, resilience mindset trainer and consultant, paralympian, author, and veteran, at 9 a.m. Friday, April 27, in Schafer Theater at the Utica Campus.

As a speaker and communications coach, Tucker uses “story showing” and vulnerability to inspire people and show them how to turn their pain into purpose, wounds into wisdom, and trauma into triumph.

Tucker believes that everyone has a story to tell, and that the world needs to hear it said MVCC. As a resilience speaker and consultant, she shares the techniques, habits, and mindset she uses to shed a lifelong victim mentality to overcome the loss of most of her left arm in 2010. She used the same techniques to make history as the first woman to represent the USA in the Open Compound Para Archery Division in the 2016 Paralympics — with less than two years shooting experience.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information on Tucker, visit
