The Rome school district’s “Dialogue with the superintendent” meetings for the public will resume for the 2017-18 year with a session Nov. 27 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Rome Free Academy library, 95 Dart Circle at Griffiss park.

it is “intended to provide families an opportunity to ask questions through the submission of a question card and elicit an on-the-spot response,” district Superintendent Peter C. Blake said in his blog on the district’s website. Questions are submitted anonymously.

During the prior 2016-17 year, his first as district superintendent, Blake hosted a 10-meeting series of the community dialogue sessions at schools.

“Following last year’s tour through the district to provide families an opportunity to chat informally and get questions answered, we will be continuing the practice this year, however in fewer locations,” Blake noted.

The meetings in 2016-17 were attended by school district staff as well as community members. The questions that were asked and the topics that were discussed included a wide range of categories.
