Camden board delays vote on Annsville Elementary closure
CAMDEN — A Camden Board of Education vote on the
proposed Annsville Elementary School closing has been
postponed until the board’s
regular April 10 meeting instead of its Tuesday meeting next week, the school district has announced.
The postponement is to allow the board and the district administration “time to review additional financial data and program modifications as the result of the public meeting” that was held Monday night, the district said.
The board’s special meeting Monday night included interim district Superintendent Jeffrey K. Bryant’s presentation on his proposal for the Annsville school closing, plus comments and questions from several of the approximately 120 people in attendance.
Among concerns raised by parents and community members about the proposed school closing were bus ride times, pre-kindergarten arrangements, and whether other options should be pursued.
