BOCES to host open house, college fair

VERONA — Students, parents and community members are invited to the Madison-Oneida BOCES Open House and College Fair on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the BOCES campus, 4937 Spring Road.

Among the activities as noted by BOCES:

• Prospective students and their parents can learn more about Career and Technical Education programs available to area high school students. They can see class demonstrations, meet current students, talk with teachers, learn about the enrollment process and tour the facility.

• High school juniors and seniors can meet with representatives of nearly two dozen colleges, professional schools and the military to learn about post-secondary options.

• The BOCES Consortium of Continuing Education will staff several tables with information about literacy courses, community education offerings and professional and trade certifications available for adult learners at five community-based campuses. 

• Alternative and Special Education programs will host a curriculum night for parents of current students in those programs.

Madison-Oneida BOCES serves students from these school districts: Camden, Canastota, Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, New York State School for the Deaf, Oneida, Rome, Stockbridge-Valley and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
