VERONA — Jonathan Cornue, a Madison-Oneida BOCES staff and curriculum development specialist, has a newly released book called “Changing the Grade: A Step-by-Step Guide to Grading for Student Growth,” announced BOCES.

The book, geared for administrators and teachers, is available online through amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. The publisher is ASCD, whose website is acsd.org online.

In his book, Cornue “presents a detailed model for developing a more reliable, standards-based grading system and includes 30 steps to guide schools through the process,” said BOCES.

“He offers a concrete structure for changing the grading system and says change needs to be implemented both systematically and systemically,” BOCES added.

The book was released on Jan. 18. BOCES administrators and staff, along with Cornue’s family, were on hand at an event Tuesday to celebrate it. Cornue lives in Oneida with his wife, Cindi, and son, Xavier.

Madison-Oneida BOCES serves students from Camden, Canastota, Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, New York State School for the Deaf, Oneida, Rome, Stockbridge-Valley and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
