World Series of Bocce shows community pride
It’s that time of year again — when hundreds of visitors arrive in Rome, ready to spock and roll and take part in a one-of-a-kind sporting event.
The World Series of Bocce is more than just a competition of the ages-old game, it is a celebration of our city’s unique heritage, our community spirit and our shared sense of togetherness.
This year’s event features a record number of teams, including teams from all over the country and Canada. It also features a number of local teams, who have honed their games on the immaculately maintained courts at the Toccolana Club.
Whether you play bocce or not, there is plenty of action and attractions at the Toccolana Club today and tomorrow to enjoy.
Kudos to organizers of the World Series of Bocce for once again putting on a world-class event, and kudos as well to the city’s business and municipal leadership for rolling out the red carpet to our guests, many of whom so enjoy the event and the community that they go to great lengths to attend the World Series of Bocce each and every year.
After all, this competition, and as importantly this celebration, can only happen here.
