Thoughts on grand juries

Equal justice: Blogger Pocahontas says no grand juries were empaneled for Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, Russia uranium transfer, 30,000 Clinton deleted emails, Iran cash transfer, Fast and Furious gun running, DNC media collusion during 2016 election campaign, political espionage through intelligence agencies, or illegal unmasking of Americans but Trump investigations, absent specification of any crime, may get one.

Breaking the law: Bloggers on Reddit believe they have discovered an illegal email address used by then Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The name used was Elizabeth Carlisle, the name of Lynch’s grandmother. That would go along with illegal email addresses by other Obama officials to subvert national record-keeping laws.

Someone lied: CNS News reports the Department of Justice released 413 pages of emails related to the Bill Clinton/Attorney General Loretta Lynch meeting on the Tarmac. The American Center for Law and Justice said that the leadership of then-Director James Comey originally denied the existence of such records.

Who isn’t fit: Columnist Charles Krauthammer said, “I don’t think Trump is fit to be President.” Considering all that Trump has accomplished, much of it missing from Main Street media reporting, perhaps Krauthammer should question his own skill at punditry. As blogger Ext writes, “The guy they all said wasn’t a ‘real’ conservative is exposing the fake ones every day.”

Hold the Left to its standards: Instapundit Glenn Reynolds points to an article that says anti-Trump forces will ruin if they can’t rule. Reynolds adds that the Washington Post, “which ran the leaks while it poses as the voice of responsible Washington, deserves blame too. Now it should identify the leakers. ‘Democracy Dies In Darkness,’ remember?”

Reynolds adds: “. . . the Post shouldn’t have published the leaks, which served no purpose except politics. Those involved should be subpoenaed for the identity of the leakers, and jailed if they refuse to identify them. Journalists, remember, have no special privilege to refuse a subpoena.

Who’s side is he on: Lindsey Graham, a lawyer and a senator, supposedly knows Congress can’t pass a statute that would violate the Constitution. It’s grandstanding for Graham to stick his face in front of TV cameras to propose a law that would forbid a President from exercising constitutional authority. How ironic that Graham is suddenly concerned after eight years of previous executive violations under Obama.

The Senate vacates: The Senate has been slow-walking Trump’s appointments. Senator Mike Lee says that if the Senate were to continue at its current pace of filling Trump’s appointments, they would be completely filled in 11 years.

Can’t have it both ways: Democrats use Russians as a political tool. Blogger MM says that 1) for years the Left said the Soviet Union wasn’t an enemy and anyone who thought so was a fool, 2) Obama mocked Mitt Romney for saying in a debate that Russia was a threat, and 3) Obama, informed about possible Russian meddling in the 2016 election, did nothing. Now we are supposed to worry about Russians because Democrat shills say so.

Good point: Former WH press secretary Ari Fleischer tweets, “W/o Russia, all Ds have are tax hikes, more spending, identity politics, &single payer. That’s why they need Russia.”

Press preoccupations: WH Press Secretary Sarah Sanders closed a recent press conference saying, roughly quoted, “I have to wrap up here...and I want to leave you with just one last thing before I close out on an important development.

“You guys love to talk about Russia and there’s been non-stop coverage, and the one day that there might have been a question on Russia, there wasn’t. Often we have a lot of media with Russia First, but today there was public testimony that further discredited the phony dossier that’s been the source of so much of the fake news and conspiracy theories, and we learned that the firm that produced it was also being paid by the Russians. This is yet the latest piece of evidence that vindicates what the President has said, that this is a witch hunt and a hoax. And its a shame that the President and the country have had to go thru this charade continually, and hopefully this will help us move forward in that process, and with that thanks you guys so much. See you tomorrow.”
