Drums announces competing teams

Drums Along the Mohawk Drum Corps International Summer Tour is scheduled for Thursday, August 2 at Rome Free Academy Stadium on Turin Street.

"This year’s line-up is especially exciting," said Claudette Wire, director of the show. "We have some great drum corps returning to the show especially our crowd favorite, Madison Scouts from Wisconsin who are doing exceptionally well on the DCI tour! We are so excited about all the corps and really want fans to see this show!"

Drum corps will be staying at local schools and practicing during the day of the show. Fans should check Facebook for schools hosting corps the week of the show.

Drums Along the Mohawk also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Tour Award. This award is given to New York students who march with a DCI Drum Corps.

The 2012 line-up for Drums Along the Mohawk includes:

Ticket outlets include, Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, Big Apple Music, in New Hartford and Remington Federal Credit Union in Ilion and Richfield Springs.
